MANALI – LEH HIGHWAY
Leh
Distance – 479 KMS.
The highway crosses many small streams of ice-cold water from snow-capped mountains and glacial melts without a bridge and it requires driving skill to negotiate fast-flowing streams.
ROUTE- Manali – Rohtang – Khoksar – Sissu – Tandi – Keylong – Jispa – Baralacha la – Sarchu – Pang – Tanglang La – Upshi – Leh
DELHI - JAIPUR - JODHPUR - JAISALMER

Jaisalmer Roads
Distance – 765 kms
The roads are in excellent condition and a pleasure to drive on! Follow RJ SH 19 which is the best option as far as routes are concerned. the highlight of this road is that not only they are well maintained but also takes you straight to your destination, does not wind in the way.
ROUTE- Delhi – Jaipur – Ajmer – Jodhpur – Pokaran – Jaisalmer.
MUMBAI – GOA

Distance – 608 kms
This can probably be called the Favorites in Indian Road Trips. Drive towards the sun, the sea and the sand on a gorgeous road that will inspire and gear you up for the upcoming fun.
Route- Mumbai – Pune – Satara – Kolhapur – Belgaum – Panaji
AHMEDABAD – RUNN OF KUTCH

Distance: 402 kms.
The road from Ahmedabad to Runn of Kutch is in excellent condition and scenic. As it passes through the desert, you can also see many desert animals on the way along with the rural life.
Route: Ahmedabad – Sarkhej – HAnsalpur – Dhrangadhara – Bhachau – Bhuj – Kutch
GUWAHATI – TAWANG

Distance: 501 kms
The town is about a 16 hour drive from Guwahati. Tezpur is 4 hr. drive from Guwahati. From Tezpur you go to Bhalukpong (border of Assam and Arunachal) where Indian and Non Indian tourists have to show in permit (easily obtainable at either Guwahati or Tezpur) and proceed to a beautiful and rough drive up the mountains. It can take 12-14 hrs if you go at a stretch to Tawang. It is advisable to break your journey at either Bomdila or better still – charming little valley town of Dirang. Sela pass is notoriously difficult and heavy snowfall (during season) could force you to stay on either side.
Route: Guwahati – Tezpur – Bhalukpong – Bomdila – Dirang – Tawang.
DEHRADUN – NAINITAL

Distance: 270 kms
Nainital is located in Kumaon foothills in Uttarakhand. The town lies in the midst of mountains, three of the most significant ones being Mount Naina, Mount Deopatha and Mount Ayarpatha. The name of the town literally translates to ‘lake of the eye’; ‘naina’ meaning ‘eye’ and ‘tal’ meaning ‘lake’. Haridwar can be congested but if you have plotted the map well, it’s a good drive and very good roads.
Route: Dehradun- RIshikesh – Haridwar – Nazibabad – Ramnagar – Nainital
BANGALORE – MUNNAR

Quality of road overall is GOOD, save for patches at few places. One cannot complete the list of road trips without traveling through the one with Tea Gardens alongside.

KOLKATA – PURI

DARJEELING – THIMPHU

Distance: 351 kms
Indians, who do not have a passport, require a tour permit from the Indian Embassy in Phuentsholing. This permit is issued after the Immigration officer checks the authenticity of the Indian’s identity card (voter’s id, driving license, PAN card, etc). This permit has to be produced before the Bhutanese Visa office in Phuentsholing and a travel Visa is issued for 7 to 30 days, depending on the purpose of travel of the applicant.
