Assi Ghat

Assi Ghat is situated at the southern most part of all ghats. Assi Ghat is the place where the Holy Ganges meets River Assi. It is famous among all Hindus because of the huge lingam under a old peeple tree on Assi Ghat. Assi Ghat is also famous for the travelers who stay in Varanasi for a longer period. The Great Poet of 16th Century, Tulsi Das died here Assi Ghat.

Dashashwamedh Ghat is the one of the most popular tourist attraction in Varanasi and the most crowded Ghat among all the ghats in Varanasi. It's one of the most oldest and holiest Ghat where the Ganga Aarti takes place every evening. Experiencing a Aarti at the time of Dawn is a soothing experience.
Chet Singh Ghat

This Ghat is named after the Maharaja Chet Singh. This Ghat has some historical importance because the battle between Britisher and Maharaja Chet Singh took place here in 18th Century. Maharaja was defeated here and there is a interesting fort where you will spot the story of that battle and his defeat.
Tulsi Ghat

Tulsi Ghat is named after Great Hindu Poet "Tulsi Das" who wrote "Ramcharitmanas" here. Tulsi Ghat is a window for Hindu Mythology. There is a saying that Tulsi's Manusscript fell into the Holy Ganges and it floated instead of drowning. It is also believed that the "Ramlila" was staged for the first time on Tulsi Ghat.
Munshi Ghat

Munshi Ghat also known as "Darbhanga Ghat" was built in 1912. The Munshi Ghat was named after Sridhara Narayana Munshi, then finance minister of Nagpur. Later in 1915, the Ghat was purchased by Brahmin King and extended it. The extended part of Munshi Ghat is known as "Darbhanga Ghat" now. Munshi Ghat is a peaceful ghat known for the great photography at the time of dawn.
